CAMPING AT GARTSIDE RESERVOIR

No camping is allowed at this site. The hours of use are from 6:00am till 10:00pm, thus for there is no over night camping, although there is places to camp around the Sidney MT. area there is very limited activities that accommodate what the people want. The plan is that there would be an over night camping fee in witch you can obtain from the local police department. Only a certain number of "dry" campers or tents would be allowed per night and would be regulated by possible punishment for camping with out a permit. Our rivers are blown out and dangerous for children to be around certain times of the year. Gartside Reservoir is a calm water environment with endless possibilities for safe swimming, paddle boats, kayaks, canoe or even smaller boats with electric motors. Swimming hours on the other hand would also have to be regulated as far as no night time swimming and fires in designated areas only. I think this could be something GREAT for our community and an opportunity for a safer "kid friendly" camping environment.
