Introduce Conjugal Visits in Queensland Prisons
This petition is to introduce Conjugal visits for Queensland Inmates.
This is to support prisoners rehabilitation and reintegration, maintaining a healthy family relationship, reducing the likelihood of them reoffending once released.
One of the biggest problems of avoiding recidivism, is the restoration of the relationship between a prisoner and his/her partner when they come out.
If a prisoners' relationship with their partner can be maintained on an emotional level throughout the period of incarceration, then we will actually have restored that family.
Additional affects of Queensland Corrective Services out-dated policies regarding conjugal visits for Offenders is the cause of high levels of sexual tension within the prison. The introduction of Conjugal Visits for Offenders, would reduce the number of sexually provoked assaults on other prisoners.
