Petition for a Multiple-Occupancy Universal Bathroom at Elon

In order to support Elon University's commitment to inclusion and diversity, Elon students would like one multi-occupancy bathroom in Moseley or another heavily trafficked building to have the signs changed from men and women to universal.

Many Universities, including Yale University, University of Oregon, and Bard College, have multi-occupancy bathrooms labeled as gender neutral. This change will create a more safe, comfortable, and accepting environment for transgender and gender nonconforming students, faculty, and staff members and create a fundamentally educational experience for the rest of campus.
