Tell Ohio To Shut Down Dirty Coal!

Ohio is falling way behind in renewable energy. And the loudest voice against progress appears to be Cleveland's main power company, FirstEnergy.

Under pressure from First Energy, Ohio has ceased to provide utility customers with good information about sustainable energy. Meanwhile, FirstEnergy is proposing to raise utility rates to keep its aging coal plants in business. Burning coal is a principal cause of climate change, chaotic storms, and melting polar ice caps.

Please join me in asking the Ohio Public Utilities Commission to close down the two coal plants and move toward one hundred percent use of green energy by 2050.

To the Ohio Public Utilities Commission:

You appear to be interfering with the rights of utility customers to pursue clean, sustainable energy. Homeowners and small businesses should have all the options, not just the same options they had fifty years ago.  Ohio has tremendous protential for wind and solar power. Your mission should be to encourage construction of solar and wind panels and farms rather than line the pockets of FirstEnergy. FirstEnergy's coal plants are out of date, and they need to be closed down. Please close down the two coal plants and move toward one hundred percent use of green energy by 2050.
