The city code requires additional fees and background checks, applications for anyone reading Tarot being a clairvoyant or psychic. This should only require a simple business license.as with all other businesses.The code creates a bias against certain types of businesses. Preventing or discouraging some individuals from making a living with their abilities. ie; telling an artist only 17th century art is acceptable . Not 20th century, the 20th century art would require additional permits.

City hall stalling . Here on catalina island we have the summer season to make a living. This is being dragged out to go past season so I cannot work. City of Avalon council meeting on the 17th of this month. I need as many signatures . Asap. Thank you.

I have spoken to the mayor. I should know on aug. 4th.she also felt the city code was
out dated and only a basic business license should be necessary.
