Request Boroondara Council to Complete a Municipal Wide Bluestone Heritage Study

We are a group of residents passionate about preserving Boroondara's iconic Victorian, Edwardian, and Interwar-era bluestone heritage.

Bluestone heritage in Boroondara - laneways, kerbs and channels - is an important part of our local history and urban character. Our bluestone heritage is now under increasing threat from infrastructure upgrades and a lack of awareness about its heritage value.

A comprehensive bluestone heritage study in Boroondara would help to identify, document, and protect these culturally and historically significant features before they are irreversibly lost.

The preservation of Boroondara's original bluestone kerbs, channels, and laneways is vital to maintaining the city's unique streetscape character and protecting an important tangible link to our historical identity.
