There has been many stories of police officers having affairs with married women. These extramarital affairs have taken place with the officer being "on duty" and "off duty". However, no laws have been made to stop these occurrances from happening. Not only do the spouses have to deal with these situations, but our children as well. When our children need help, we teach them to dial 911. We teach them to look up to police officers. How can they look up to them when their whole world is torn apart because the parents are divorcing due to the extramarital affair with a police officer? A police officer is suppose to serve and protect, not break up marital homes and families due to their selfishness.
I formed this petition because I to became a victim of this type of situation. Due to those actions, I not only had to end my marriage but I have been mentally suffering as well. I do not want any more families falling victim to these type of police officers. I believe that a stricter law should be made specifically for these type of situations.
