We are obliged to express our outrage over the brutal treatment of Ethiopian refugees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by Saudi security forces.
It has come to our attention through reputable international media outlets including the BBC, CNN and others that Ethiopian migrants in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have become victims of vicious violence and inhuman treatments.
Currently, thousands of innocent Ethiopian refugees in Saudi Arabia live in fear and critical situation facing appalling and random abuse, torture, unlawful arrests and even murder. The number of victims is increasing day by day.
Therefore, we demand the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to stop immediately the killings of innocent and helpless Ethiopian immigrants and to stop the beating and unlawful arrests. We call upon the African Union, the International community, the UN Agencies, the European Union, the US government, the Arab League, the Vatican and the government of Ethiopia to take action immediately to ensure the protection and safe return of the thousands of innocent Ethiopian migrants to their homeland, Ethiopia.
We call upon the International community to uphold the highest standards of human rights to which they signatories.
