Don't Eliminate Obama's Drilling Policies

On 4/28, President Donald Trump signed an executive order calling on the Interior Department to review some of the policies former President Barack Obama put into place to protect the environment.

Between safety regulations for oil rigs and limiting the ocean areas where oil companies could drill, Obama's goal was clear: protect the oceans and protect our planet rather than caving to the wants of wealthy oil and gas companies.

Trump's executive order is meaningless unless Secretary Zinke decides to toss out Obama's common sense regulations. Though it's clear what Trump wants, so far Zinke hasn't committed to a position. Therefore, we urge Zinke to stand up to the president for the sake of the environment.
