This is one of the
worst cases of cat neglect and abuse we have heard about in a very long time. Please read on with caution.
In a town 50 miles east of Manhattan, a man had been keeping dozens and dozens of cats and kittens in "uninhabitable" conditions.
His home was filled with nearly 100 cats, many of them suffering from various painful and untreated illnesses. And maybe worst of all:
two dozen dead kittens were found wrapped up together, stuffed heartlessly into the man's freezer.This case is truly unimaginable, and we need local authorities to take it very seriously.

"wet urine, smeared feces, grime and filth covering the floors, walls and stairs." Multiple cats that were rescued from the home had to be euthanized, their chance at a new life tragically just out of reach.
It is completely unclear how this man was able to acquire so many cats to subject to his horrific abuse.
How were things allowed to get this bad?We're urging prosecutors to get to the bottom of that exact question so that something like this never happens again, especially at this scale.
Who knows how long these cats suffered, the mamas giving birth to more and more babies that seemingly rarely survived. The thought of it is almost too much to bear.
Suffolk County prosecutors must set a strong precedent that this kind of treatment of cats will not be tolerated, both by conducting a thorough investigation and also by making sure this man can never get his hands on another cat ever again.
