No fossil fuel money in our elections

Every election, fossil fuel interests from out of state spend millions of dollars to try to buy candidate and ballot measure elections. According to the Guardian in March 2019, "Washington state was one of the five states most targeted by oil company funded political advertising around the US midterm elections." We know firsthand the influence of the fossil fuel industry, and the grip it has on our democracy.

It's time for candidates to say enough is enough. We need to reject the fossil fuel industry and put the health of our communities and Washington's future first.

Taking the no fossil fuel money pledge means that campaigns won't accept contributions from PACs or executives of fossil fuel companies. They've tried to buy our elections for years but together, we can break their hold on Washington state and prioritize the health of our families, our climate, and our democracy.

Together, we can prioritize the health of Washington families, our climate, and democracy over corporate profits.

Stand with Washington Conservation Voters and ask elected officials and candidates running for office to pledge not to take fossil fuel money in this year's election.
