Pledge to Spay/Neuter Your Pets

Most people think that veterinarians recommend spaying and neutering solely to help the pet overpopulation crisis. However, there are major health benefits to doing it as well.

Every year, tens of thousands of female dogs and cats die from breast cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, uterine infections and difficult pregnancies. Similarly, male pets suffer from testicular, prostatic and rectal cancers, and hernias. Spaying/neutering your pets can greatly decrease or completely eliminate these health problems.

Thousands of litters of tiny, unwanted puppies, kittens, and bunnies arrive by the bucket and boxful at area shelters daily. Adult dogs, cats, and rabbits hobble in, lost and injured while looking for mates. Without addressing the root of this problem, adoptable pets will continue to be euthanized for lack of space and resources. Spaying/neutering is the key to reducing the strain and allowing shelters to find families for truly homeless pets.

You can save lives by pledging to spay or neuter your pets. Sign this action if you agree and help spread the word to your friends and family about its importance.
