STOP THE KILLING OF SEALS IN CANADA

This petition is against the cruel killing of seals in Canada. Even though the majority of Canada is also against the killing of the seals, the fisherman still kill the seals. About 40% of the seals are being skinned alive each year, most of them are young babies. In 2003, 350,000 seals were killed. The meat is not used, but the fur is mostly sold on markets. "The bottom line is simple and needs to be said again: In an aggressive propaganda campaign contrary to both science and reason, the Canadian government is now using the Harp seal as a scapegoat for their own failed attempts at managing what was once a strong fishery." - said one ex-sealer.
