Help End the "Hungry Season"

Asseta and her family live in Burkina Faso, a desperately poor country plagued by famine and disease. During certain months of the year, food is so scarce that people call it the "hungry season" — sometimes Asseta can only feed her children one meal a day.

Asseta is not alone — she's one of more than a billion people who struggle every day to keep their families alive. Trapped in a vicious cycle of malnutrition, chronic hunger and poverty, women like Asseta often feel there is no hope for their children. But all they need are the resources to break the cycle.

Since 1946, Freedom from Hunger has brought sustainable self-help solutions to women in some of the world's most impoverished countries. Through education about health, hygiene and saving & investing money, our programs enable women to raise healthy children... who are much more likely to become healthy adults.

We've reached many women like Asseta... but there are millions more who desperately need our help. Together, we can empower strong, hardworking women to lift themselves and their families out of chronic hunger and poverty. Take a stand today and help us end the "hungry season" for people throughout the world.
