Tell the UK Government: Bring British Citizens Home from Iran

British citizens are stranded in Iran, with no way out -- and no plan from the UK government.

Many travelled for compassionate reasons: to attend funerals or care for relatives. They are not tourists. They are citizens in crisis.

Flights are vanishing. Borders are tense. Yet unlike those in Israel, they've been offered no support, no information, and no safe route home.

We are not asking for military flights -- just for the UK to do what others have already done: work with neighbouring countries for safe land exit, provide consular support, and communicate with families in the UK.

No British citizen should be left behind.

Dear Foreign Secretary,

I am writing to express deep concern for the British citizens currently stranded in Iran — without any clear public plan for their safe return or government support.

Many of these individuals travelled for urgent and compassionate reasons: to attend funerals or care for elderly relatives. These were not reckless or recreational journeys — they were personal acts of responsibility and love.

Since the recent escalation in regional conflict — including US military action and rising instability — their situation has become increasingly dangerous. Commercial flights are vanishing, land borders are volatile, and time is running out.

And yet, unlike British nationals in Israel, those in Iran have received no information, support, or indication of coordinated evacuation planning.

This disparity is unjust — and indefensible.

I urge you to act now by:

  • Coordinating safe land-based evacuation routes via neighbouring countries such as Turkey or Armenia

  • Working with diplomatic partners — including the Swiss Embassy in Tehran — to offer on-the-ground support

  • Providing clear communication to UK-based families whose loved ones are currently stranded

  • Clarifying why no public plan has been announced, despite efforts elsewhere

Other countries — including France, Ireland, Germany, and India — have already acted. The UK must not fall behind or allow any citizen to be left behind because their return is more complex.

I respectfully ask that the government respond with urgency, transparency, and fairness — and uphold its duty of care to all British citizens.

Yours sincerely,
