Please Reconsider Campaigning for Senator Lieberman
This petition is to urge Senator Boxer to discontinue campaigning for Senator Joe Lieberman in the Conneticut primary. Although Senator Lieberman is entitled to his personal opinions on both the Bush administration's policies and on the Iraq war, it is our belief that he has taken specific actions which show a lack of respect for the party and he is therefore unworthy of support by the party.
It is our belief that by taking the following two actions Senator Lieberman has undermined the Democratic Party.
1-He has repeatedly spoken out against Democrats who openly criticize the Bush Administrations' handling of the Iraq war.
2-He showed blatant disrespect for the Democratic Party by refusing to honor the results of the Democratic primary. Specifically, he openly stating he would simply run as an "Independent" if Ned Lamont is victorious in the primary.
The Democratic Party needs strength and unity now more than ever. By refusing to honor the outcome of the primary Lieberman has abandoned the spirit of the party and truly remains a Democrat "In Name Only." We believe you should withdraw your endorsement and allow the voters of Connecticut to decide this election. firma la peticiónfirma la petición
