Tell the Federal Government to invest in clean energy

As our state and federal governments plan recovery measures, it's critical for Australia to invest strategically in renewables to strengthen our economy and energy system.

With the national Renewable Energy Target (RET) expired, projections show that clean energy investment will dry up and the number of new solar and wind projects under construction will fall off a cliff – risking thousands of jobs and billions in investment.

Investors, businesses and the renewable energy industry are all demanding policy certainty so that we can keep building new clean energy generation to replace Australia's expensive and polluting coal-fired power stations.

We are calling on the Federal Government to take action on climate change, and plan for Australia's economic recovery and the inevitable transition to cheap and clean energy by:

  • Extending the national Renewable Energy Target;
  • Allocating more funding to the Australian Renewable Energy Agency;
  • Ensuring the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme remains strong until 2030.
