Don't Let Mitt Romney Buy The Election by Corrupting Voting Machines

Mitt Romney's son, Tagg Romney, has purchased e-voting machines that will tally ballots in the upcoming election in Texas, Oklahoma, Washington, Colorado, and the crucial swing state of Ohio. And both Romney and his wife have deeply invested in the e-voting machine market, meaning presidential candidate Mitt Romney could be literally buying votes.

A presidential candidate's strong investment in the machines that determine his election outcome is a conflict of interest, to say the very least. Romney has invested in H.I.G. Capital, which holds a majority share and is home to three out of five board members of an e-voting machine company. How is this legal?

Buying voting machines is just the latest ploy in a campaign full of dirty strategies like voter suppression tactics and suspicious campaign ads- - just to name a few. Now, the entire Romney clan has thrown their wallets at a company responsible for presidential votes.

Tell Mitt Romney: Our votes are not for sale!
Dear Governor Romney,

Just because cutting corners on campaign ethics isn't actually illegal--doesn't mean you're running a legitimate campaign. Your brother's, wife's, son's, and your own personal investment in the e-voting machines used by 5 major U.S. states is a lofty and egregious moral compromise that voters are uncomfortable with, and that, frankly, you should be uncomfortable with too.

[Your comments will be added here.]

Buying votes is not fair play. Stop basing your campaign off of conflicts of interest and dirty tactics that demean political platforms, discourse, and elections.

I don't want a president who cheats to get ahead. Stop trying to buy the 2012 election!

Sincerely,
