Tell Mattel to Stop Destroying Rainforests for Toy Packaging

Barbie is on the rampage. She's trashing rainforests in Indonesia, including areas that are home to some of the last tigers, orangutans and elephants, just so she can wrap herself in pretty packaging.

Mattel, the maker of Barbie, is feeding this nasty habit by using paper packaging for the world's most famous toy from one of Indonesia's most notorious companies, Asia Pulp and Paper (APP).

Rainforests are torn down and turned into paper products, while the empty land is converted into pulpwood plantations.

Critical wildlife habitat and carbon-rich rainforests and peatlands are being wrecked by APP and its suppliers for cheap, throw-away toy packaging. Email Mattel now and demand that it stops playing around with deforestation.
Subject: Stop destroying rainforests for toy packaging

Dear Mattel,

I am appalled to discover that Mattel is wrapping products like Barbie in packaging made from Indonesia's rainforests.

The destruction of these forests is speeding up climate change and destroying the home of the endangered Sumatran tiger, threatening orangutans and Sumatran elephants, as well as causing many conflicts with local communities.

I am asking you to act today to clean up your supply chains. Please stop pushing Sumatran tigers to the brink of extinction for throw-away toy packaging.
