Against Earmarking
Earmarks are government funds that are allocated by a legislator for a particular pet project, often without proper review. Earmarking is manipulative and repulsive. You, the political leadership, have no right to bribe each other into signing legislation through special interest project funding. You have no right to hide unnecessary uses of tax dollars in thousand-paged bills.
We demand that you require all bills be read before signed. We demand that press conferences be held concerning each bill and addressing each cent that is spent from our precious livelihoods. We demand that no more "other" categories are listed in governmental breakdowns of government spending. We demand that government spending be made easily accessible to the public. We demand that earmarking, pork, hidden government spending, and all other undisclosed spending of government money be deemed illegal. And any breaking of this law must be followed with the refund of public tax money spent in such cases and the imprisonment of all persons associated.
