Ask Japan to stop whaling
Japan is the most powerful of the three remaining countries that still commit the awful act of whaling. It is important that we tell them how we feel about this heinous act. We must let them know that the world is watching and is not impressed. The large scale slaughter of whales for obvious commercial use is illegal, yet since they cover it with the false intent to utilize the murdered animals for research (and of course bribing the IWC doesn't hurt their cause) they manage to get away with it year after year. Please sign the petition and tell them how you feel.
We the undersigned request an immediate stop to whaling. The unnecessary slaughter of these large endangered animals is appalling to the rest of the world and it reflects poorly on the entire country of Japan. There is not a nation in the world that believes you are murdering these animals for research. If you were doing so for research it would be absolutely irrelevant. Killing animals for research is an archaic act that we had to resort to before we had proper technology. The number of whales you are killing points to a commercial operation. You have also arrested and detained a whaling protester for "forcibly obstructing business" which is an admission on your part that the whaling is committed for profit.
We kindly ask you to halt your needless acts of whaling, thus improving your image and honor with the rest of the world. You are a strong and admirable nation, please do not stain your appearance to the rest of the world via the cruel act of whaling.
