Pubs are an essential part of the social and economic heart of local communities up and down the country. Yet dozens of pubs are closing every week.

So I have answered the British Beer & Pub Association and the Society of Independent Brewers' call to support their "I'm Backing the Pub" campaign.

100,000 people across other UK constituencies have already signed up to the "I'm Backing the Pub" campaign - and it is supported by organisations such as the CBI, Visit Britain, and the Campaign for Real Ale.
