With the retirement of Luanne Collins at the end of this school year, Hughston Elementary is now in need of a new principal. PISD is currently interviewing several candidates to fill this important position. However, as a parent of a Hughston student, I feel it's important all of us Hughston parents let PISD know we care and have our own suggestion. Deborah Bonner was the assistant principal at Hughston last year and is currently the assistant principal at Hickey Elementary. In my short time working with Deborah (with WatchDOGS) it was clear to me she is a great fit for our school. Myself and several other parents have already contacted PISD about our support for Deborah. However, if we can get at least 100 parents to sign on to this petition we will have a much louder voice.
