Declare San Diego A Shall Issue County
In view of the many deadly assaults on law abiding citizens who because of the current practices of Sheriff Kolender and the San Diego Sheriff's Department, are unable to lawfully carry a concealed firearm for personal protection, we, the residents and voters of San Diego County call upon Sheriff William Kolender to declare San Diego a "Shall Issue" County for concealed carry weapons permits (CCW's). Currently San Diego County only issues .000583% CCW's to it's residents. This policy has enabled criminals to have the upper hand and has endangered law abiding citizens. This practice must stop and ALL citizens applying for the permit and meeting the requirements for background checks and training MUST be issued CCW's. The signers of this petition vow to support any candidate for Sheriff, San Diego City Council, Mayor and County Supervisor that also supports our right to self protection and the reform of CCW practices in San Diego County. The signers of this petition also vow to actively oppose any candidate that refuses to affirm these rights. We, the undersigned are lawful residents of San Diego County, CA.
