Euthanizing "lost" pets

The main purpose of this petition is to provide the 'Coalition for Reuniting Pets and Families' with the encouragement and support they need to keep fighting it's cause. This coalition is fighting to standardize pet microchip technology, and is up against companies who are focused on maintaining their market shares and profit margins.

It is unacceptable that microchipped dogs and cats are brought into animal shelters and veterinary clinics and are euthanized. Don't think this doesn't happen, because it does and more times than you think!! Read the following blog entry http://bit.ly/petidblog

Please sign this petition if you are in favor of standardizing microchip technology, And when you find a pet, please make sure that a universal microchip reader is used to scan for a microchip. Together we can make a difference.
