Expand Amtrak Across Missouri
Amtrak needs to expand Missouri rail service. Such as the St. Louis-Kansas City line and the new route to Springfield, Missouri along the BNSF. The schedule is at the mercy of U.P.'s stupidity. We need to write to the Missouri house reps and senators to fund more Missouri trains and we also need to write to U.P. to show some respect to Amtrak. U.P. is short for Union Pacific. BNSF means Burlington Northern Santa Fe. The route to Springfield would be going over the BSNF ex-Frisco Cuba sub.
We the undersigned would love to have more service.
Please give Amtrak riders a variety of trains to ride. Gas prices are stupid! The reason why the trains are 80 or 90% late on eastbound trains out of Kansas City is because of Union Pacific's stupidity. UP seems to "hog" the tracks. BNSF wouldn't dare do anything that stupid. BNSF is one the kindest railraods on the freight railroad system. With the trains, people are up and close to nature. People who once drove I-70 are turning to the train for a much smoother ride. And the train itself is a connection to the Katy Trail. Thank you for taking yoru time to read this letter.
