HELP STOP Pit Bull Laws in Oak Harbor, WA

Have you all seen the laws in city limits of Oak Harbor, WA?  A "Potentionally Dangerous Dog" mainly, Pit Bulls (actually they're the only breed specified), have to be on a leash at all times and muzzled, and never allowed to be left in a fenced in backyard.  They have to be in a cage with top, bottom, and sides and buried at least 12 inches into the ground.  What I'm saying is that we can't even walk our Pit Bulls (our extended family member) on a nice walk with our children without putting a muzzle on them! SO, anyone that sees our dogs that already have a bad rap assume that since they have a muzzle on that they're mean.  How does this help the breed?  How can we properly socialize them as puppies or new additions to our family with strict laws like this.  We can't even play with our dogs in our own back yards due to the laws of Oak Harbor, WA.  If all Pit Bulls are such terrible dogs, explain to me why my mother has my Pit Bull in MO as a Pet Pal dogs that goes into nursing homes and hospitals as a Therapy Dog?  But they are ALL bad dogs right?  I don't think so.  ANYONE that assumes that a dog (of any kind) is mean because of a stereotype are only stereotyping people, because it was a human being that made that one dog go bad.  A dog trainer once told me, A Pit Bull will give 110% at whatever you train them to do... if you train them to love 110%, that's what they'll do and they will enjoy doing it.  The people that train these dogs to fight, beat them, and throw them out when they are "cold" should be treated the same as they treat that poor defenseless dog.  We, signing this petition, are 100% AGAINST DOG FIGHTING!!! Please take a minute to sign and comment on this.  As soon as I reach 1000 signatures I will be forwarding this on the City in hopes that it may do some good.  No matter where you are from please sign this.  I've gone through and signed as many of these as I possibly could to help give good name to these WONDERFUL, LOVING, FAMILY dogs for other cities trying to get the good word of this amazing breed out also.
We the undersigned are asking to lift the "Potentionally Dangerous Dogs" laws in Oak Harbor city limits.  The strict rules that you have on Pit Bulls or any mix of the breed is unfair to loyal dogs and loyal owners.  Without even giving a chance, Pit Bulls have to be muzzled to walk on a leash and this gives even those who aren't necessarily against Pits the assumption that the dog is mean.  If responsible owners are suppose to socialize their dogs (of any breed) and properly train them, this does nothing but give them a worse image to the general public who've never encountered a family Pit Bull.  Pit Bulls will give 110% at whatever their taught and MANY families love these dogs for that.  Many families with young children have Pit Bulls due to their loving nature of children.  Yes, they were taught to fight OTHER DOGS... and some do have dog aggression. However, they were NEVER trained to be human aggresive.  It seems that the public likes to glorify when a Pit Bull does wrong, but what about the other dog attacks that the media seems to forget about since it was just a lab, golden retreiver, poodle, or other small breeds.  We all believe that if you are going to have the strict laws of having a Pit Bull registered as a "Potentionally Dangerous Dog", always on a leash, all enclosed in fence buried 12" into the ground, and muzzle while on leash that this should be applied to ANY breed unless Tempermant Classes were preformed on them to prove otherwise also.  Please take this into consideration and thank you for your time.
