As a resident of Pike County for at least the last 20 years and always having been a dog owner, I face the same problem as so many others. We have no where to take our dogs to play and interact with other dogs and people. I have to travel at least an hour or more to the nearest Dog Park for such a treat.
Matamoras Borough has recently received funding and has build a wonderful Play Ground for our children . This was long needed, since Matamoras and the surrounding area is growing by leaps and bounds. I commend them for the great effort, but now it is time for the ever-growing dog population to get their space.
Airport Park, right next to the Delaware River, has ample space for such an endeavor. I already have spoken to a %u2018Recreation Chair Person%u201D and I know the thought has been entertained. As usual, I do however know that if you want something done you MUST do it yourself. And as a long time dog owner and having the %u2018patience%u2019 and the time to start and finish such a project I am going to assume the responsibility of Petitioning the Matamoras Borough for our own Pike County Dog Park.
I do not want to go into a Town meeting unprepared and herby officially ask you for help in research and support in this project.
