Greenco Environmental is the first commercial food waste composting operation to garner a permit and endorsement from the Environmental Protection Division (EPD) of Georgia. They are looking to move to DeKalb County, GA. The site is located in Southeast DeKalb County on a 1,500 acre site where they would only use 22 acres. NIMBYs (Not In My Back Yard) neighbors are spreading lies and have misrepresented the company as a landfill. Please support GreenCo if you believe the following:
- Food waste/yard trimmings should be diverted from Seminole Landfill and be converted into organic compost.
- DeKalb County should support job creation especially green jobs.
- DeKalb should live up to the claim that they are the Greenest County in the US by welcoming green companies.
- That CEO Ellis right it's One DeKalb.

We the undersigned are asking DeKalb County Commissioners to support the Special Land Use Petition to allow Greenco Environmental to relocate their permitted certified composting business to the LaFarge Quarry located in Lithonia, GA. Located on 1,500 acres the composting would only take up 22 acres located in the center of the property.
We beleive that DeKalb County should be the Greenest County in America and that to meet that goal we need to support green businesses that create green jobs. We also believe this would be a benefit to DeKalb Sanitation Department that has an over abundance of compostable goods that could be used to create soil to support community gardens, organic and sustainable farming in DeKalb and a healthier One DeKalb.
