As concerned Parents we are combining our collective voices to speak out to South Lanarkshire Council and register the message loud and clear: This is a line in the sand you must not cross. Stop the School Budget Cuts now:
Stop seeing our schools as centres of efficiency and start to see them, as we parents do, as seats of learning.
For the past 8 or 9 years you have consistently applied cuts masquerading as " efficiency savings " of 2% to our schools budgets and every year you add to this misery for our Head Teachers. In 2009 we are sending you this message and please understand it. " ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ! " " NO MORE CUTS. ! . LOOK ELSEWHERE."

We the undersigned do by virtue of this electronic petition and the associated paper petition do demand that South Lanarkshire withdraws the current plans for reduced Educational Budget for 2010 and beyond.
We are, as parents, clearly telling you in the most direct way possible that this is wrong and you should be investigating where to save money away from Education.
Our children are our future and not elements in a balance sheet. It would be helpful if you did not waste money on appointing extra headcount on staff away from the " sharp end " of teaching. They do not improve a situation like this. Money at the sharp end, books, supplies and good teachers can!
Please take this on board and come out and publicly tell us, your parents, that you are going to scrap these year on year barbaric cuts.
