Vote Term Limits and end of special treatment for Congress.
Help stop abuse by senators and representatives who stay in office, more for the perks, than the legislation.
Ted Kennedy should have been the poster person for term limits, after serving in Congress for four decades.
Over 65% of an elected official's time is spent on campaigning, and not on legislature.
Maybe with term limits, special perks and waste can be eliminated.
Did you know Congress' retirement fund is not drawn from Social Security, but a special fund, paid for by taxpayers, not Congress wage earners.
Did you know, Congress voted themselves a raise in July, 2009, but Social Security Recipients will not get a cost of living raise for the next two years?
Who needs the money more?
Why, if a government official retires, he can still get his retirement earnings, even though they are able to earn large amounts from appearances and speaking engagements? Yet, if you or I earn over a certain amount, our benefits are reduced or eliminated?
Why should the taxpayer fund expensive get togethers for congress and other government officials that are more to show off than conduct business?
Shouldn't these "parties" be held on Federal property, and not in any private business or home?
Shouldn't government officials provide their own transportation to work, and socially, like the average taxpayer?
Let the government know we want to be represented, not elect royalty to be given special treatment.
Serve for the prestige, not the perks!
2010 and 2012 are election years for our congressional personnel!
Vote out the incumbents! Let's have a fresh start in D C!
Let them know that there will be no need to raise funds for reelection,
and while in office, work for the people, not the elite!
