Warns against permanent foreign alliances. "It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world..."

George Washington advised USA to not make foreign alliance. There shouldn’t be any foreign alliances with countries because we can take WWI for example. The reason WWI started was because of secret alliances between nations in Europe. An assassination led to a WWI. Having foreign alliances was one of the reasons why the WWI started. Also currently USA is an ally of Israel and that’s one of the reason there is a war going on in Iraq. If USA was not an ally with Israel, we wouldn’t be in Iraq right now and the war would have been small and short.
