Lower Prices on the Life-Saving EpiPen!

I know a good amount of friends who have allergies, and rely on epinephrine to save their own lives. However, Mylan has increased the price of its life-saving product, EpiPen, from roughly $60 to $600. This can make it very difficult for allergy patients to obtain what they need to survive an anaphylactic allergic reaction. Mylan needs to lower its price on the EpiPen immediately.

When Anaphylaxis occurs, a patient only has a limited amount of time to get to a hospital to be treated. Epinephrine buys a patient time to get to a hospital. With Mylan's increase on price for the EpiPen, a patient may not be able to obtain what is needed to survive an allergic reaction. If he or she then has an anaphylactic allergic reaction, there may not be enough time to get medical attention. Also, a patient may have to rely on an expired EpiPen which may not function to its full life-saving potential. All this can lead to an increase in allergy-related fatalities. Therefore, it is urgent that Mylan lowers the EpiPen's price to roughly $60 or less so that more allergy patients will be able to save their own lives and have more time to make it to a hospital when Anaphylaxis occurs.

Dear Mylan,

We, the undersigned, urge you to lower your price on the life-saving EpiPen. I know a good amount of friends who have allergies, and rely on epinephrine to save their own lives. However, your increase on prices can make it very difficult for allergy patients to obtain what they need to survive an anaphylactic allergic reaction.

I read that Mylan will be offering a generic version (I'm still confused about this) of the Epi-pen for roughly $300. This is far from enough. We need to spread the word so that every allergy patient can get the branded Epi-pen that they're familiar with at a fair price. Please show the petition to friends and families, particularly those with severe allergies. Let's urge Mylan to lower their prices on this life-saving technology!
