Bring Back Live Music to The Washington Ballet%u2019s The Nutcracker

We the Undersigned call on the Board of Directors to evaluate the decision to used recorded music for performances of The Nutcracker.

As reviews of recent ballet performances by The Washington Ballet at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC confirm, dancing to recorded music destroys the dynamism and disrupts the drama of the ballet production. Young children, typically not taken to orchestra concerts or opera performances, are losing their initial exposure to live classical music.
