Clean Air in the CBD For Non-Smokers

This petition is being created with the view to inform Clover Moore of Sydney City Council that action needs to be taken with regard to Sydney CBD's smokers. With Sydney fast becoming a metropolitan hub, we must ensure we cater for the health concerns for the number of non-smokers affected by those who do smoke. This petition wants to affect change by employing rangers, increasing signage and most importantly, installing covered smoke-boxes where the public can smoke freely without disturbing non-smokers. Please sign this petition! Use your work details if you don't want to share yours, but if you believe this needs to change, do sign it!

To the City of Sydney Council,

We, the people of Sydney wish to have addressed the growing issue and health concern that non-smokeres are being subjected to cigarette smoke constantly, on a daily basis, throughout the streets of Sydney CBD. Without dedicated smoking boxes, or areas, smokers often share their fumes with those who do not smoke. With a lack of dedicated rangers, as well as a failure to address public fine signage, the city has become rampant with random groups of smokers who block entrances, passageways, & public walkways with their cigarette smoke. This is not only unfair but extremely unhealthy.
We, the people, are signing this petition to have the council implement some strategies to address the increase of public smoking. It is time to treat Sydney as the metropolitan hub that it is - making it a cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable place to visit and live.

Sincerely,
The People of Sydney City
