In a bid against global warming and to preserve water, Australia have started slaughtering camels in the thousands due to the animals' high water consumption. This is outrageous and needs to stop.
Camels have as much right to live as we do! Yes, camels may drink a lot of water, but do you know what takes up probably more water than the camels? Beef production. Reducing beef consumption and going vegan would be much better, possibly more effective and, of course, much, much more humane and better for the environment than slaughtering these wild animals who have existed for millennia and have probably lived in harmony with the land in Australia for thousands of years.
Apparently, animal rescue workers in Australia are honoured like gods, and I'm sure many Australians love/claim to love animals, love their dogs and cats and others, want to save the endangered species and the animals affected by the bushfires and would never want any animal to be harmed or killed unnecessarily, including snakes and spiders (hence the humane snake removers who remove and relocate snakes without harming or killing them). It's time to turn this national love of animals the way of the camels and cattle and all other animals and stop the camel slaughtering.
Even if beef farming isn't banned or reduced, there are alternative ways of saving water, such as requiring all houses to have water-saving devices on their showers, taps and toilets, requiring everyone to save as much water as possible when washing up, cleaning themselves and showering/bathing, banning hosepipe use and promoting/requiring compost toilets...
Please, PLEASE stop slaughtering these poor animals!!!!
