Urge the UN to Stop Violence against Women Activists in Sudan

Sudan is not a haven of human rights, but with the adoption of their new constitution comes new opportunity to protect human rights — specifically women's rights.

But women activists in Sudan are being threatened, sexually harassed and assaulted in order to deter them from engaging to create a better world.

Women's rights are key to having any just society, and women in Sudan are active in supporting women's equality. While Sudanese women are working to have their voices heard, the government is actively working against them, much more so than their male counterparts.

The UN is supposed to help countries uphold their commitments to human rights, but they've done nothing to stop the violence against women activists in Sudan.

Sign today to stand with Sudanese women. Tell the UN to step in and stop the violence against women's rights activists in Sudan!
Dear Ban Ki-Moon,

As someone who believes in equal rights, I strongly urge you to pressure Sudan to stop their violent deterrance of women activists in their country.

Recently, Human Rights Watch reported that women activists are targeted with threats, sexual and physical violence and defamation significantly more than their male counterparts. Women's voices are integral in any society and must not be deterred.
