Tell Hasbro Studios: Don't Permanently Kill off Optimus Prime
Transformers fans' beloved Optimus Prime may have died at times, but he's always been brought back. This time, however, things will be different.
The writers at Hasbro Studios have decided that on Transformers Prime, Optimus will die, and as they say "Once a character on Transformers Prime dies, he stays dead." In addition, this is the final season of Transformers Prime, and there will not be another show connected to it.
It would seem the writers have learned nothing from the situation in 1986. Transformers fans grieved greatly at the the loss of Optimus Prime. Both fans and their parents sadly and angrily pleaded for his return, and the ratings of the show dropped terribly. There is no telling how people will react if Hasbro takes Optimus away forever.
This is not acceptable. It is completely possible to tell the story of Transformers as an excellent drama withuot breaking hearts and without destroying the show's most beloved character.
To whom it may concern,
I have heard that you are planning to kill off Optimus Prime forever. This is not a good idea.
As you may remember in 1986, Optimus was killed off in the movie. Things became terrible.
Fans grieved greatly. Children sadly pleaded for the return of Optimus. Parents wrote letters on behalf of their children. In addtion, Rodimus Prime did not go over well with viewers at all, and ratings for the show plummeted.
The same thing could happen again.
Might I suggest that if you feel you must remove Optimus Prime, would you consider allowing him to live and serve as an occasional mentor to the Autobots. He could be a Prime Emeritus. In this scenario, we all win.
Thank you for listening and I hope that you will take what I have said to heart and consider keeping Optimus. I believe I speak for many fans. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Christine Dietzer.
