A West Point Cadet Was Convicted of Rape – But These Judges Allowed Him to Return to School

West Point Cadet Jacob Whisenhunt was found guilty of raping a female classmate while she slept. Now, 3 male judges have decided he's off the hook and can return to school, probably to rape again.

Sign on if you think Jacob Whisenhun should be kicked out of school and these three judges should be unseated for their dangerous and victim-blaming actions.

Accoding to the trial, Jacob climbed into a classmate's sleeping bag and began raping her. The scared woman froze and curled up in her sleeping bag and waited for it to end, which is an extremely common response to trauma. That's why it's called the "fight, flight or freeze" response. He was convicted of the rape, dismissed from the army, lost his pay and was sentenced to 21 years in prison.

Then three male military judges decided that because his victim didn't make any noise during the assault, she wasn't really a victim.

This is the ultimate form of victim blaming: telling a victim that the crime only counts if they behaved a certain way. That doesn't make any sense. This rape happened because Jacob Whisenhunt decided it was ok to violate someone that way, there is no other reason.

We know that most rapists are serial offenders, meaning that these three men just released a dangerous, violent criminal back into the population. This all happened because the army has it's own court system, a system that we know is not friendly to victims of sexual violence.

It's clear that the three judges involved here do not take sexual violence seriously and for that reason, they shouldn't be allowed to be judges. Sign on to make sure this convicted rapist is removed from school and these judges are unseated now!
