Moratorium on Animal Waste Storage Facilities in Grant County Wisconsin

The Grant County Conservation, Sanitation and Zoning Committee will discuss and consider a temporary moratorium on the issuance of county permits for animal waste storage facilities. The moratorium to allow time for the SWIGG (Southwest WI Groundwater and Geology) study to be completed and the results to be evaluated. Building additional manure lagoons while we're studying and evaluating the reasons for well contamination is unwise and can be prevented with the appropriate moratorium.
