Iceland: Ban Horse Blood Farms NOW!

From slaughter to puppy mills, there is a lot of evil animal cruelty out there. One sickening type of animal cruelty is the exploitation and abuse of pregnant mares on horse blood farms, particularly in Iceland. Horses are (presumably) repeatedly impregnated on more than 100 farms in Iceland. Their blood is taken from them in order for it to be used for the blood hormone PMSG, which is used by horse breeders to help get their mates pregnant quicker, and guarantees the breeders more money and more pregnant mares. Over 5,000 mares are being abused and exploited on these horrible farms. These horses are being forced to get pregnant too much; the people on the blood farms induce abortions on these horses in order for them to get pregnant again, so that their blood can be taken and used again. They also draw about 5-7 litres of blood from these horses once a week. For lifesaving blood transfusions for horses, about 5 litres is drawn each month. This, on the other hand, is severely affecting the welfare of the poor mares on the blood farms just for something as unnecessary as a hormone serum that helps other horses get pregnant.
The horses are also abused by being hit with metal bars. One goal escaped and was caught again. Horses were also punched, beaten, whipped and kicked, and allowed to suffocate, as exposed in an exposé. When the horses can no longer get pregnant, they are sent to slaughter.

There is currently an unpaused bill in Iceland that would ban these cruel farms. Let's ensure that this bill gets passed and this horrific cruelty is made illegal!

 Thanks.
