Petition to ban smoking campus wide on Cornell University

This petition calls for a campus wide ban of cigarette use throughout Cornell University. It calls for the enforcement of a ban on cigarette use in any building, vehicle, or outdoor area owned, leased, or controlled by the University. As students, faculty, and staff of Cornell University we have the right to a clean, safe environment free of second hand smoke and the nuisance of a littered campus due to cigarette butts and smoking related liter. As trailblazer towards the initiative of a green campus we should also ban smoking for the environmental hazards it posses. AS signatories of this petition we adamantly support and call for a campus wide ban of cigarette use on Cornell University inactive as soon as feasible and possible and will persist until this goal is reached.
