Malaysians First: Repatriate Rohingya Refugees and Safeguard National Security

We, the undersigned, call upon the Government of Malaysia to establish a clear policy for the repatriation of Rohingya refugees through lawful international cooperation and diplomatic efforts, while prioritising the rights, safety, and welfare of Malaysian citizens.

Malaysia has shown compassion by providing temporary humanitarian assistance to refugees for many years. However, such assistance should remain temporary and must not lead to automatic citizenship, permanent residency, or any special constitutional privileges.

The Federal Constitution is the supreme law of Malaysia and must be upheld at all times. Matters concerning citizenship, national sovereignty, public security, and the special position of Malays and Bumiputera under the Constitution must be protected and preserved for future generations.

As Malaysians, we believe every citizen has the right to live in a safe, secure, and peaceful environment. The Government has a duty to protect public safety, maintain social harmony, safeguard national interests, and ensure that the welfare of Malaysian citizens remains the highest priority.

Many Malaysians are increasingly concerned about the long-term impact of unmanaged migration, including pressure on public healthcare, education, housing, employment opportunities, infrastructure, and law enforcement resources. These concerns deserve serious attention and transparent public discussion.

We also note public concerns arising from reports and discussions involving demands for greater rights and privileges by certain refugee groups. Any proposal affecting citizenship, constitutional rights, or the social contract of Malaysia must only be considered through lawful democratic processes involving Malaysian citizens.

We therefore respectfully urge the Government of Malaysia to:

    1. Establish a clear roadmap for the safe and orderly repatriation of Rohingya refugees when conditions permit.
    2. Reject any automatic pathway to Malaysian citizenship or permanent residency for Rohingya refugees.
    3. Strengthen border security and immigration enforcement.
    4. Prioritise Malaysian citizens in healthcare, education, housing, welfare, and employment opportunities.
    5. Protect national security, public safety, and social harmony.
    6. Uphold the Federal Constitution, including provisions relating to citizenship, sovereignty, and the special position of Malays and Bumiputera.
    7. Ensure transparency and public consultation on all refugee-related policies.

Malaysia can continue to demonstrate compassion while ensuring that the rights, security, constitutional protections, and future of Malaysian citizens always come first.

Malaysians First. Safety First. Constitution First.
