Saving Children and Parents from the Department of Social Services and their bullying tactics

I currently live in Georgetown, SC. I have worked with over 1000 young boys and men over the past 15 years as a mentor, tutor, coach, and advocate. I currently have a 22-year-old living with me right now. During the summer, his 13-year-old brother came to live with me and was staying with me for a while. When I tried to go to DSS to get some services to help with his medical and nutritional needs, I was told there was an open case on him in Horry County, SC. During the summer, I picked the child up from the airport as he flew in from Texas. His parents said that they could not do anything with me and asked me to take care of him. The first time DSS came by my house, she interviewed me and the two brothers, telling them younger one that she would not be removing him from the house that she could see he liked it at my house. Next time another DSS worker came by and did an home inspection on a Sunday and left. Then the police came by to see if the place was safe. Then another group of DSS workers came by on Monday. This whole process went on for over a month. Then I went to court on behalf of the younger brother. That is when I met the director of DSS from Georgetown, SC. He said he was not going to be able to let the younger brother stay with me because my house was not suitable as far as the conditions of my house. the said we will let the judge decide. I was told that I would be able to speak on behalf of the child and the courts did not let me speak. DSS would rather separate the brothers than keep them together. What makes DSS think they have better parenting skills than I do. What makes them think they have better parenting skills than you do? There are countries that have conditions a lot worse than I do. However, they have each other for support. That does not make them a bad parent. I had two of the brothers with me. And once again DSS and their bullying tactics have separated a family once again. The solution I would like to offer is that DSS should not just individuals by how much money or rather or not they live in a mansion or in a trailer. They should put all options on the table before making a decision. However, my theory is that if DSS did not act on removing children and their families, then they would not have any job. I would rather DSS shut the doors than for them to remove your child. Please support me by signing my petition. When I left the court, they decided to remove the child from my home and from his brother. When I broke the news to both of them, they began to cry. God Bless You for your support.
