Stop mental illness brutality

My husband has a mental illness. His physician was contacted and we decided he needed further help. We call our local non emergency number spoke with the officers told them he is not a threat to himself or others and showing no sign of aggression. 4 officers responded running from every side of our home and dropped him to the ground on a cold hard wet deck in the rain by tazing him. He never resisted he never shown aggression with any of them. There was absolutely no need for him to be tazed. I asked the officer if he felt threatened and would not answer. All he said was this is how they keep themselves safe with the mentally ill. We need to stop this sort of action. My husband is no criminal and was not aggressive in any way. They terrified him and tazed him to make there job easier. I want to petition the county that all officers have mandatory mental illness training. So they can properly handle these types of situations. This is why our mentally ill are afraid to ask for help. Sign this petition and be the voice for someone that cant be heard for themselves.
