Increase The Safety for Students

Lately, sexual harassment and assault have become a big issue in a lot of schools, especially in those that offer night classes. De Anza students are subject to safety issues not only on campus but also in everyday life. Rape is reported every 6.2 minutes in the United States. Assault in the workplace and domestic violence are norms rather than exceptions. Moreover, less light in parking lots during the night and very few campus police on patrol decrease the safety of students. In a nutshell, our safety is not guaranteed.
We are trying to bring SafeTrek to our school for the purpose of safety on campus as well as in your daily life. It is an application that can send our exact location to police with just a hold on the button on the phone screen. Not only does this app contribute to our physical safety, but provides us psychological relief as well. This petition is made to ask our school fund for SafeTrek App (estimated $0.18/student)
