Sheikh Omar Abdurrahman, Also known as the Blind Sheikh, is a well-educated and knowledgeable Scholar who dedicated his life to Islam. He is of Egyptian origin and was born in 1938. Sheikh Omar lost his sight when he was just 10 Months Old. Was arrested in July 1993 under false, and exaggerated Accusations. Sheikh Omar has been in Solitary Confinement for more than 18 years. He suffers from Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Difficulties in breathing and a loss of sensation in Limbs. He is being treated badly and unfairly, especially for a blind senior of more than 70 years old.
I kindly urge you to sign this Petition, in the hopes of putting pressure on those responsible for Sheikh Omar's imprisonment as well as release and bringing his case to the spotlight in order to hasten his safe release and return to his family and friends in Egypt.
Many Prisoners of Conscience are being imprisoned unlawfully and this is continuing and growing at an accelerating rate. It's not right for the Free Men to neglect their imprisoned and innocent Brothers. We must do that what we can do for the Leaders to release the Captives. We can do this together.
