Stop changing Google doodle on women's day

Historically speaking, every day used to be Men’s day. It were the men who used to enjoy every day, along with toiling hard for their families or fighting in the battles or engaging in politics. Rich men had slaves to entertain them everyday. Poor men had their families and other men in neighborhood. But it were the women who did not get their due for long. Barring a few examples where women had been exalted to position of Goddesses, there is no other precedent where women were celebrated.

In the present context, due to rise in feminism, Women’s Day is celebrated in grandiose manner. But due to the prevalent thoughts that men do not need reasons to celebrate and can go out any time, the concept of allocating a special day for Men did not materialize. Things began changing with starting of movement called “Movember” or “No Shave November” or No shaving during November to highlight many causes that affect men.

The International Men’s Day is a very new concept. 99.99% people (including me) came to know of this day from circulating Whatsapp messages and Google’s doodle. There is a general lack of awareness of men’s physical and psychological health issues.
