No Gas Safe card........no gas appliance/fittings purchases

Is it not about time that gas appliances and fittings should only be purchased by gas safe registered installers.  The Gas Safe Register are saying to engineers always carry your card.  Well I for one think it would be a good idea that all gas appliances should only be purchased by gas safe registered engineers.  Illegal fitters are ending up in court each and every time they are found to have installed outside of the regulations.  Im pretty sure the already strained court system could do without the extra work.  Pretty sure that the consumer would be happy to find out as soon as they see the boiler come out of the van that their fitter had to be gas safe registered to be able to purchase the boiler.

You couldn't buy a firearm without a license.   UK deaths from carbon monoxide far out way the deaths each year from gun crime. So why doesn't our government bring in a law with the Gas Safe Register to prevent sales of gas appliances and fittings to anyone other than a gas safe registered company or individual.
