Petition To Postpone the Midterm Date

Halloween is a national holiday for alcoholics like me and many other students of Umass. This year it falls on a Sunday, the date that the midterm is due. Because Halloween falls on the weekend, the whole weekend should be dedicated to partying as per American culture. The midterm period directly conflicts with this important occasion, suppressing our freedom to party as young adults. Weekends like these are essential to our mental health and self expression. My suggestion to this conflict is to shift the midterm period one day, so that it will be due Monday, November 1st at 11:59 PM. This solution would allow us to party throughout the entire weekend, while also ensuring a day after the holiday has terminated to complete the exam. We the undersigned petition Professor Jenia Tevelev to postpone the exam period by twenty-four hours.
